Privacy Policy

Holy Dude is a Christian AI adviser app, operated at Dude.com (we also own HolyDude.com). Your trust is the whole product. This is written in plain English, not lawyer-speak.

The short version

• Your chats with your wing men are private. No one at Holy Dude reads them, and no admin or staff screen shows them.
• Two exceptions, for safety. An automatic check looks only for possible child sexual exploitation or predatory messages, and for messages that suggest someone may harm themselves (so a person can check that you are safe). Only those are shown to a safety reviewer, as a short excerpt (up to 200 characters), and every time the safety list is opened it is logged.
• We never sell your conversations and there are no third-party ads or trackers.
• You can delete everything in one step: Settings, then Delete everything.

How your messages are handled

• To write a reply, your message is sent to the AI service that powers your wing man (Anthropic; if it is busy, Groq, Google Gemini or DeepSeek). Voice is turned into text by Deepgram, and a spoken reply is made by Fish Audio. They process it under their own terms and are not allowed to use it to advertise to you.
• So you can see your history, chats are saved on our server, linked to your account. They are stored encrypted (AES-256), so a copy of the database alone does not show them. This is not end-to-end encryption: the AI has to read a message to answer it, and the people who run the server could technically reach the database. Our app gives staff no way to read it.
• Things you share with people are seen by them: messages to friends, Community Market messages with a buyer or seller, Live Chat rooms (public rooms are public; a private room is open only to its owner and the people invited), Forum and Prayer Wall posts.
• When you write to us (support, feedback, the contact form), our team reads it, because you are writing to us.

Deleting

• Delete everything (Settings) removes, at once, from our server: your chats with your wing men, your wing men’s memories of you, your cloud backups, and the chat lines in your synced app data. It also asks Google Firebase to delete the backup copy older versions of the app kept there.
• What takes longer: copies inside our server backups disappear as those backups roll over (within about two months); the AI services keep their own short-term logs under their terms. Safety flags (possible child exploitation, possible self-harm) are kept for the safety review.
• Delete your account from Settings to remove your account as well.

Children

Family plans include parental oversight, and the child-safety check above applies to every account. If we find content that suggests a child is being exploited or is in danger, we may report it to the authorities where the law requires it.
